Ordering Tablet and Kitchen Display

The ordering tablet lets guests order and pay at your restaurant. The kitchen display shows those orders, and all your online and app orders, to your kitchen team. Both use the menu, prices and settings you manage in cirQQle Manager → Menu Management.

Ordering tablet

Requirements

  • Use a tablet only. The app cannot be installed on a phone.

  • Use landscape mode. If you rotate the tablet, it asks you to turn it back.

The ordering tablet welcome screen with the 10% coupon offer

When a guest starts, the tablet shows the welcome screen with the 10% coupon offer.

Guest mode and manager view

The tablet stays in guest mode so guests never see setup options.

  1. To open the manager view, press and hold the restaurant logo for about three seconds.

  1. Enter your PIN.

  1. To return, switch back to guest mode. If you opened the manager view by mistake, just stay in guest mode.

 How guests order:

  1. Join cirQQles (optional). Guests scan the QR code to get the free cirQQles app, find your restaurant, copy their five-digit coupon code and enter it, then select Apply my 10%. Guests who select Not now, start ordering pay full price.

  1. Add the code. The code is valid for 15 minutes, then must be regenerated. Members can share it with someone at their table.

  1. Choose items. Guests pick items and modifiers, enter the required order name and review the order. Several people can pass the tablet around.

  1. Pay. Guests choose Pay on phone (scan a QR code, then use Apple Pay, Google Pay or a card) or pay on the tablet.

  1. Finish. The tablet resets for the next guest after about 30 seconds, or when the guest taps Done.

The 10% comes off the menu subtotal before tax. It does not stack with your deals: the tablet automatically gives the guest whichever discount is better.

The ordering tablet: menu categories and items, with the Your order panel on the right

Guests browse the categories at the top and tap + to add an item. The Your order panel shows the coupon, the required order name, each item with its price and the Review order button. Reset clears the screen for the next guest.

Choosing a tip and how to pay on the tablet

Guests can add an optional tip (No tip, 15%, 18% or 20%), then choose Pay on your phone or Pay here on this tablet.

Paying by card on the tablet

Paying on the tablet opens the card form. Guests enter their card and select Pay now. Modify order goes back to the cart, and Cancel / start over clears the order.

Manager view

The manager view shows paid orders and the ones in the kitchen. Tap an order to see its items and mark it ready or on its way to the table.

Guests are notified of every status change. Members get a push notification as an order moves to confirmed, preparing and ready. If Auto Status is on (Settings → Auto Status), orders move on a timer without anyone touching them. Choose either to update orders yourself or to let the system do it, and set realistic timers.

Kitchen display

The kitchen display works on tablets and phones. It is built to be large, bright and simple for a busy kitchen.

  1. Install the Q-Bite app and sign in with your restaurant admin email and password.

  1. Select your restaurant, then select Enable alert sound so you hear new orders.

  1. New orders appear on screen with an alert sound.

After you sign in, the top bar shows your restaurant, how many orders are open and who is signed in. At the top right are your star rating and the Messages, Archive, Refresh and Settings buttons. When there are no open orders, the screen says All caught up, and new orders appear here automatically.

Each order shows the items, modifiers, guest name, table number and any discount. Zoom in for more detail, or print the order.

Order statuses

Orders move through New → Confirmed → Preparing → Ready for pickup (or Out for delivery) → Completed. With Auto Status on, the system moves them for you. With it off, staff move each order forward.

Settings

  • Alert sound: the sound played when an order arrives.

  • Keep screen awake: keeps the display on.

  • Auto print: prints each new order if a thermal printer is connected.

  • Refresh: how often the screen checks for new orders (10, 30 or 60 seconds).

  • Sign out.

Printers: cirQQles does not provide a printer. If you want auto print, buy a thermal receipt printer yourself. They typically cost about $60 to $70.

Other screens

  • Messages: guest messages about an order, with an alert. You can reply.

  • Archive: completed orders, so you can look up past orders.

  • Ratings: guest ratings, filtered by stars.

  • Refresh: loads new orders right away.

Changes you make in cirQQle Manager, such as menu, prices and Auto Status, change what the tablet and the kitchen display show.
