How Does the Lead Generator Work?

The Lead Generator in cirQulate helps you find potential business leads based on specific business types and locations. You can create reusable lead-generation templates, define your target audience, choose an email and sales cycle, and then run the generator to find prospects.

This makes it easier to grow your contact database and identify new sales opportunities without manually searching for businesses.

What Does the Lead Generator do?

The Lead Generator allows you to:

  • Create reusable lead-generation templates
  • Select one or more business types
  • Apply filters to narrow your results
  • Choose an email template for automated outreach
  • Assign leads to a sales cycle
  • Search for businesses by country, state/province, and city
  • Set the number of leads to find
  • Run a test search without saving contacts or sending emails
  • Review and import relevant leads into your contacts

How to Create a Lead Generator Template?

Before running the Lead Generator, you can create a template that defines what type of businesses you want to find.

Create a Template

Open the Lead Generator and select the option to create a new template.

In the  Create Template window, enter the following information:

Template Name

Give your template a descriptive name, such as Restaurants in My Area.

Business Type

Search for and select one or more business types. Business types are based on Google Maps categories, allowing you to target specific types of businesses.

Filters

Use the available filters to further narrow down the businesses you want to find.

Email Template

Select an email template that will be automatically sent to scraped prospects when the lead-generation process is run.

Sales Cycle Template

Select a sales cycle to assign hot and warm leads to your sales pipeline.

After completing the template setup, continue to the Advanced Filters section to configure additional targeting options.

Workflow Assignment

Select a workflow to assign hot and warm leads to a pipeline workflow.

Salesperson Assignment

Select a salesperson to choose who hot and warm leads will be assigned.

How to Run the Lead Generator?

Once your template is ready, you can run the Lead Generator to search for prospects.

Select a Location

The Run Lead Generator window allows you to define where you want to search.

Select:

  • Country – Choose the country where you want to find businesses
  • State/Province – Select the state or province to narrow the search.
  • City – Select a specific city for a more targeted search.

Using a city is optional. You can search across the selected state or province if you don't want to limit the results to a specific city.

Set the Result Limit

Enter the maximum number of businesses you want the Lead Generator to find.

The result limit can be set from 1 to 5,000 businessess

For example, entering  100 means the Lead Generator will search for up to 100 businesses that match your selected criteria.

Use Dry Run When Testing

The Dry Run option allows you to test your search before actually importing leads

When Dry Run is enabled, the system will scrape prospects  without saving contacts or sending emails.

This is useful when you want to check whether your selected business type, location, and filters are producing the type of leads you expect.

Start the Search

After entering the location and result limit, select  Next to continue.

The Lead Generator will search for businesses that match the criteria defined in your template.

Review Suggested Leads

After the search is completed, review the businesses found by the Lead Generator.

Review the available information and select the prospects that are relevant to your business.

This step allows you to make sure you are adding useful prospects rather than importing every result automatically.

Import Leads into Your Contacts

Once you have reviewed the results, select the leads you want to keep and import them into your cirQQle.

Imported leads become contacts that you can manage and engage with through cirQulate and other cirQQles features.

If your template includes an email template, the selected outreach settings can also be used for contacting eligible prospects.

How the Sales Cycle Works With Lead Generation

The Lead Generator can also connect generated prospects with your sales process through a  Sale Cycle Template

Hot and warm leads can be assigned to the selected sales cycle, allowing your team to continue managing them through the sales pipeline.

Find Leads → Review Leads → Import Leads → Asign to Sales Cycle → Follow Up → Convert

Why Use the Lead Generator?

The Lead Generator can help you:

Save Time

Instead of manually searching for businesses and entering their information, you can generate prospects based on predefined criteria.

Best Practices

  • Use descriptive template names so you can easily identify the purpose of each template.
  • Choose specific business types to avoid generating too many irrelevant results.
  • Use filters when you need a more targeted audience.
  • Start with smaller result limit when testing a new template.
  • Use dry run to verify your results before saving contacts or sending emails.
  •  Review Leads before importing to make sure they are relevant to your business.
  • Connect an appropriate sales cycle so your team can manage qualified leads after they are imported.
