Managing Roles in Q-Revenue

3 min. readlast update: 02.23.2026

Role management in Q-Revenue allows you to control who can access what, ensuring data security, operational clarity, and accountability across your sales organization.

By defining roles and assigning permissions correctly, you can:

  • Protect sensitive revenue data

  • Control access to forecasts and reports

  • Define approval authority

  • Streamline team responsibilities

  • Maintain structured sales governance

This guide explains how to manage roles, add new roles, and configure permissions.

Why Role Management Matters

In a revenue forecasting system like Q-Revenue, not everyone should have the same level of access.

For example:

  • A Sales Representative may only manage their own deals.

  • A Sales Manager may view team forecasts.

  • A Revenue Admin may configure sales cycles and probabilities.

Proper role management ensures:

  • Security

  • Accountability

  • Data accuracy

  • Operational discipline

1. Managing Roles in Q-Revenue

To access role management:

  1. Go to Q-Revenue Dashboard

  2. Navigate to Configuration

  3. Select Roles & Permissions

Here you can:

  • View existing roles

  • Edit permissions

  • Create new roles

  • Deactivate outdated roles

2. Adding a New Role

Creating a new role allows you to customize access based on business needs.

When Should You Create a New Role?

  • You are expanding your sales team

  • You need a specialized forecasting role

  • You want to separate operational and reporting access

  • You are implementing approval hierarchies

How to Add a New Role

  1. Go to Configuration → Roles & Users

  2. Click Create Role

  3. Enter:

    • Role Name (e.g., Regional Sales Manager, Revenue Analyst)

    • Role Description (optional but recommended)

  4. Click Create

Once created, you can configure permissions.

3. Configuring Role Permissions

Permissions determine what actions a role can perform inside Q-Revenue.

Permissions are typically grouped into modules such as:

  • Sales Cycles

  • Deals Management

  • Forecasting

  • Reports & Analytics

  • User Management

  • Revenue Settings

4. Assigning Permissions to a Role

To configure permissions:

  1. Open the created role

  2. Toggle permissions by module

  3. Select:

    • View

    • Create

    • Edit

    • Delete

    • Approve (if applicable)

  4. Click Save Changes

5. Assigning Users to Roles

After creating a role:

  1. Go to User Management

  2. Select a user

  3. Assign the appropriate role

  4. Save changes

Users will now inherit all permissions assigned to that role.
